(Santa Monica) What the world needs now is pickle platter, sweet pickle platter. Birdie G's (2421 Michigan Avenue) has the best one on the West Coast, and much, much more, like tangy little mushrooms that they fry up like calamari, and a most delicious hangar steak. You'll hunt to find it on the last street before the 10 Freeway, but it's worth it. —Kasper Gutman
