Luis Albert Urrea’s Glorious Things
Every so often, BookWag asks a genius writer for three gifts from the muses. Who better to inspire us creatively than Wag Luis Albert Urrea, whose new novel Good Night, Irene draws from his mother’s experience as a Red Cross worker in World War II? During an epic road tour to promote his moving book, these goodies made life that much sweeter.
1. My wife, Cindy Urrea. Driver, organizer of details, forever companion, an evil genius when it comes to seeking out roadside attractions, like South Dakota’s Wall Drug and Corn Palace.
2. F-Bomb coffee packets from Roast House in Spokane. No hotel coffee can hope to match this cup of goodness. All I need is hot water and I am good to go.
3. The Hydrow Rowing Machine. At home, Cindy is devoted to ours. On the road, we use the Hydrow app every day for stretching and body strength workouts.
