The Why Wait ‘Til May Spring Fling. Many years ago, Wag was introduced to the Pimm’s Cup by Ms. Lauren Hutton, who told of her many larger-than-life adventures, which involved escaping from Tampa, appearing on To Tell the Truth, and roaming the Serengeti like a tawny, gap-toothed lioness. We suggest you and a few chums salute the warm months to come, and Lauren Hutton, thusly:

• Five ice cubes from the Vitus Bering Glacier (or any old place)

• One Brideshead Revisited-sized part Pimms No. 1

• Two zesty parts ginger beer (Wag prefers Bundaberg, but Ms. Wendy Benson Landes of West Hollywood splashes in the Sprite)

• One cucumber slice

• One orange slice

• One mint sprig

• One sliced strawberry

You may throw in other vegetation, but don’t embarrass yourself. For heaven's sake, it's a libation, not a salad.
